Saudi Supplier Lowers July PE Offers to Vietnam Amid Intense Competition

The supplier returned to the Vietnam market with its first July pricing after suspending offers for the previous two months due to regional supply disruptions. Although the initial offers were considered competitive, continued pressure from suppliers across Asia prompted further price reductions.
Under the revised pricing, the LLDPE film offer was reduced by $10/ton, while the HDPE film offer was cut by $40/ton from the initial July announcement. The latest offers now stand at $940/ton CIF Vietnam for LLDPE film and $990/ton CIF Vietnam for HDPE film on a cash basis.
Despite these reductions, the revised quotations remain above recently concluded transaction levels, indicating increases of around $80/ton for LLDPE and $30/ton for HDPE compared to recent market deals.
Market participants noted that supplier competition in Southeast Asia remains intense, with abundant regional availability continuing to influence pricing strategies. Another major Saudi producer had also announced substantial reductions to its July PE offers for Vietnam earlier, reflecting the increasingly competitive market environment.
