Nigeria’s PP, PE Prices Climb as Saudi Supplier Returns with Sharp October Hikes

In the PE market, the supplier increased offers by $60-100/ton. HDPE film, blow molding and injection grades recorded the largest hikes of $100/ton. LLDPE film prices rose by $90-100/ton, while LDPE film increased by $60-80/ton.
The PP market also saw substantial increases. Homo-PP raffia and injection, as well as homo-PP film and fibre, were raised by $100/ton. PPBC injection increased by $70/ton, while PPRC injection prices climbed by $100/ton.
The latest increases follow the supplier’s withdrawal of its September indications amid regional tensions and supply disruptions. Market participants said availability remains limited, while buyers are becoming more willing to secure cargoes as inventories stay low.
Tighter regional supply has strengthened producers’ position in the market, giving them greater room to raise price targets despite continued caution among Nigerian buyers. Limited availability and concerns over future supply are encouraging some buyers to cover their immediate requirements.
