Malaysian Producer Reveals July PP, PE Domestic Offers with 3-Digit Cuts

A Malaysian producer has announced its domestic PP and PE price list for July, introducing substantial reductions for the second consecutive month as regional polyolefin markets continue to face pressure from weak demand and ample supply.

According to distributors, the latest revision reflects the broader bearish sentiment across Asia, with both polyethylene and polypropylene grades registering significant month-on-month declines.

In the PE segment, HDPE film prices were reduced by MYR1,500/ton, while HDPE blow molding and all major LDPE grades recorded steeper cuts of MYR1,600/ton. LLDPE film also posted a notable decrease of MYR1,200/ton from June levels.

Meanwhile, PP prices moved sharply lower across all key grades. Homo-PP raffia and injection offers fell by MYR750/ton, while homo-PP film saw a larger reduction of MYR1,150/ton. PPBC injection and PPRC injection grades recorded the steepest decreases, dropping by MYR1,450/ton and MYR1,400/ton respectively.

The revised prices will take effect from July 2 on an FD Malaysia basis with 30-day deferred payment terms.
