Indian rupee closed higher against the USD

The Indian rupee rebounded modestly today, closing at ₹87.30 per US dollar, recovering from Thursday’s low of ₹87.74. This helped avoid a fresh record low, as intervention by the Reserve Bank of India played a key role in stabilizing the currency.
Week in Focus: Trajectory from ₹86.15 to ₹87.30
At the start of the week, the rupee was trading at around ₹86.15 amid trade uncertainties and a firm US dollar.
On July 31, it rebounded 15 paise to ₹87.65, supported by a decline in crude oil and suspected RBI intervention.
Today’s stronger finish came after deep declines earlier in the week, driven by U.S. tariff threats and weak investor sentiment.
