What It Means for the Industry:
Compliance Timeframe: Importers, manufacturers, and downstream users of polycarbonate will have additional time to obtain BIS certification. This helps avoid disruption in imports or usage of uncertified material.
Supply Chain Relief: Many overseas producers and supply lines had faced delays in complying with BIS audits and certification; the extension eases pressure temporarily.
Cost & Planning: Businesses now have breathing space to adjust manufacturing, sourcing, and inventory to meet BIS norms without urgent cost spikes.
