USD/INR Climbs Over the Week, Rupee Weakens Against the Dollar
The Indian rupee weakened against the US dollar over the past week, with the USD/INR exchange rate rising to ₹96.57 per US dollar as of July 25. The one-month trend shows the dollar strengthening steadily, reflecting increased demand for the US currency amid global market uncertainty.

Compared with last week, the dollar has gained ground against the rupee, indicating a weekly upward trend in USD/INR. The chart shows the exchange rate moving from around ₹95.3–95.5 in the previous week to ₹96.57, an increase of roughly ₹1.1–₹1.3 per dollar (around 1.2–1.4%).

A stronger US dollar can increase the cost of imports for Indian buyers, including crude oil and petrochemical feedstocks that are priced in dollars. If the trend continues, import costs for polymers and related raw materials could remain under pressure.
