PE Market Intelligence Report — October 2025

Here’s the latest from Credco Sourcing’s Market Desk:
LLDPE: Stabilized
Globally, LLDPE prices have bottomed at USD 840–880/MT after months of softening. In India, prices have stabilized near annual lows, supported by domestic fundamentals beginning to strengthen. Rupee depreciation against the US Dollar has made imports less viable, providing support to local producers and traders. LLDPE is now poised for recovery, and stockists are advised to cover requirements to benefit from the expected uptrend.
HDPE: Supply Tightening
HDPE inventories at Indian refineries are significantly lower than last year, signaling tightening domestic supply. With HMEL refinery scheduled for phased maintenance starting November 2025, supply in North and West India could face further constraints. HDPE is expected to remain firm, and stockists should replenish inventories ahead of the festive demand surge.
LDPE: Weak Tone
LDPE continues to face weak demand both domestically and internationally. Import offers are likely to soften, while ample domestic supply keeps prices under pressure. Importers are advised to wait for more favorable offers before buying.
Macro & Global Factors
Crude oil prices remain range-bound, keeping cost pressures limited. Freight rates from Asia and the Middle East have eased, partially offset by rupee depreciation. Inconsistent demand from China continues to cap regional bullishness.
Market Overview
HDPE is showing stability with a mild positive bias due to low refinery stocks and upcoming festive demand. LLDPE has stabilized and is poised for recovery, supported by tight import parity. LDPE remains under pressure, with prices likely to correct further.
Credco Insight
Tightening HDPE inventories, limited imports due to rupee weakness, and scheduled plant maintenance indicate a transitional phase in India’s polymer market. HDPE and LLDPE are expected to lead firmness in the coming weeks, while LDPE may remain subdued in the near term.
