OPaL Announces Supply Restrictions Amid Middle East Geopolitical Disruptions

In a communication to business partners dated 5 March 2026, the company stated that production and supply at its Dahej plant have been constrained as a result of disruptions in feedstock availability. The situation has emerged due to the complete cut-off of gaseous feed and limited supply of liquid feedstock, largely linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and disruptions to vessel movements through the Strait of Hormuz.
OPaL further informed that it has received a force majeure notice from suppliers of gaseous feed following the shutdown of their plant due to the non-availability of rich LNG supply amid the current geopolitical situation. As a result, the company has significantly reduced the operating load of its cracker plant, which has created a cascading impact on its downstream polymers and chemicals production units.
During this period, dispatches and shipments of goods and materials to and from the Dahej facility are expected to be affected. The company noted that the exact extent of the operational impact cannot be quantified at this stage, as the situation remains uncertain.
Despite the restrictions, OPaL stated that it will make best-effort attempts to service customer requirements while closely monitoring developments related to the ongoing crisis.
