Sabic Offers Polypropylene to Indian Market Amid Supply Challenges

Saudi Arabia's Sabic has extended an offer of polypropylene (PP) to the Indian market, indicating active import availability. However, the specifics regarding the volume, grade, and CFR India terms remain undisclosed without further access.
This development comes amidst Sabic's challenges in meeting polymer orders due to a feedstock shortage. The shortage arose from attacks on Saudi oil installations, which forced a significant reduction in crude output. Consequently, Sabic has been unable to fulfill existing polymer orders for September and has informed customers that significant volumes of PP and polyethylene (PE) are unlikely to be available for October.
The situation has led customers in Asia to explore alternative sources to meet their polymer requirements, with inquiries directed towards producers in Southeast Asia, South Korea, India, and the US.
