Indonesia Polyolefin Prices Extend Rally as PP Surges Ahead

Indonesia's domestic polyolefin market continued its upward momentum as a major producer announced its seventh consecutive price increase for PP and PE. The latest revision brought significantly larger hikes for polypropylene (PP) than polyethylene (PE), supported by tighter PP availability. However, market participants reported that buying activity has slowed, as many converters remain cautious following the rapid rise in prices.

PE prices recorded only moderate gains across all major grades, while PP witnessed another substantial jump, reflecting stronger supply-side support. Despite the bullish pricing trend, traders noted that demand has not kept pace, with many buyers delaying purchases in anticipation of better clarity on market direction.
