Major Indonesian Producer Lifts PP Prices While Keeping PE Offers Unchanged

The producer increased all PP offers by IDR540,000/ton ($30/ton), while maintaining its PE prices. The latest adjustment adds to the firming trend in Indonesia’s domestic polyolefin markets, which has continued for around two months amid elevated upstream costs and selective supply constraints. However, demand remains insufficient to provide strong support for the ongoing price increases.

Market Impact
The latest announcement keeps PE prices stable after the producer’s earlier rollover, while PP has resumed its upward movement. The contrasting adjustments highlight continued firmness in PP despite limited demand support.
Indonesia’s domestic polyolefin market therefore remains caught between higher costs and selective supply tightness on the seller side and cautious buying on the converter side.
