India’s DGTR Proposes Anti-Dumping Duties on LLDPE Imports from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Malaysia

According to the DGTR's findings, imports from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Malaysia were found to be dumped into the Indian market and to have caused material injury to domestic producers. As a result, the authority has recommended anti-dumping duties on these imports. The proposed measures include a duty of $75/ton for specified Saudi Arabian producers and $225/ton for other Saudi exporters. For the UAE, Borouge faces a recommended duty of $41/ton, while other UAE suppliers would be subject to $94/ton. Malaysian exporters face the highest proposed duty levels among the countries investigated.
Meanwhile, the investigation against Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar has been terminated. Qatar was excluded after the authority determined that no dumping had occurred, while imports from Kuwait and Oman were found to be below the volume thresholds required for anti-dumping action.
If approved by the Indian government, the proposed duties will remain in effect for five years. However, the measures will only become effective after the central government issues a final customs notification. Market participants are now closely watching for the government's decision, as the move could significantly influence India's LLDPE trade flows and domestic market dynamics.
