Acrylic Acid Market Price Is Strongly Rising

The acrylic acid market has experienced a significant rise in prices, following a stepwise upward trend over the past week. As of October 14, the benchmark price for acrylic acid, reached 8,966.67 RMB/ton. This marks a 4.67% increase from the beginning of the month when the price was 8,566.67 RMB/ton.
The primary factor contributing to this price increase is the sharp rise in costs, particularly the cost of propylene, an upstream raw material. On October 14, propylene's benchmark price was 10,701.00 RMB/ton, reflecting a 10.23% increase from the start of the month, when it was 9,707.67 RMB/ton.
Due to the significant surge in propylene prices, production costs for acrylic acid have risen, prompting producers to maintain high price levels. This has led to a strong market determination to uphold these prices, with low-priced supplies quickly diminishing.
Looking ahead, the acrylic acid market is expected to remain firm if upstream propylene prices continue to stay elevated, supported by strong cost pressures and a technical breakout.
