OPEC Oil Production Jumps, But Gulf Supply Is Still Far From Normal

The largest output gains came from Iran and Kuwait, while Saudi Arabia and Iraq also increased production. The recovery followed the gradual normalization of regional energy flows and the restart of volumes that had previously been shut due to storage constraints and logistical disruptions.
Despite the sharp month-on-month increase, production remains below levels seen before the Strait of Hormuz crisis. Much of the recent growth reflects the return of previously suspended output rather than the addition of new production capacity.
Shipping conditions in the Gulf have improved, but tanker movements through the Strait of Hormuz remain below normal levels. Many shipowners and insurers continue to exercise caution, limiting the pace of recovery in regional exports.
The situation has also reduced the immediate impact of recent OPEC+ production quota increases. Although the group has announced higher output targets, export and transportation challenges have restricted the amount of additional crude reaching global markets.
Meanwhile, global supply concerns are being balanced by rising production elsewhere. US crude output has reached record levels, while increased exports from the UAE have added more barrels to the international market. These developments have renewed discussions about potential oversupply and continued pressure on crude oil prices.
