Dalian futures update: PP, LLDPE, PVC and MEG show mixed trend on April 21

Futures trading on the Dalian Commodity Exchange showed a mixed performance across key polymer and feedstock contracts on April 21.
LLDPE futures for September delivery edged lower, declining by CNY24 per ton to settle at CNY7944 per ton (approximately $1031 per ton excluding VAT). Trading activity remained strong, with volumes reaching 567,219 tons.
Similarly, September PP futures recorded a sharper drop, falling by CNY58 per ton to close at CNY8186 per ton (around $1063 per ton without VAT). The contract saw active participation, with total traded volume at 544,387 tons.
On the other hand, PVC futures for September delivery moved slightly upward, gaining CNY8 per ton to settle at CNY5126 per ton (about $665 per ton excluding VAT). This segment witnessed the highest activity of the day, with volumes crossing 1.2 million tons.
MEG futures also ended in positive territory, rising by CNY22 per ton to close at CNY4721 per ton (approximately $613 per ton without VAT). Trade volume for MEG stood at 389,993 tons, indicating steady market engagement.
Overall, the session reflected a balanced market sentiment, with declines in polyolefins contrasting with gains in PVC and MEG futures.
