Major Indonesian Producer Slashes Most PP and PE Prices, PE Sees Sharpest Cuts

A major Indonesian producer has announced significant price reductions across most polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) grades, adding further pressure to an already weak domestic polyolefin market. The latest revision comes amid sluggish demand, ample material availability, and cautious buying sentiment.

PE grades witnessed the steepest reductions. LLDPE film prices were cut by IDR3.63 million/ton, while LLDPE injection grades saw an even larger reduction of IDR3.81 million/ton. HDPE film prices also declined sharply by IDR2.19 million/ton.

PP grades were also adjusted lower, although the reductions were less severe compared to PE. Homo-PP raffia, injection, and BOPP film grades were reduced by IDR1.33 million/ton, while homo-PP film fell by IDR1.12 million/ton. PP random copolymer injection grades decreased by IDR650,000/ton. The only exception was PP block copolymer injection, which recorded a small increase of IDR140,000/ton.
