Iran resumes South Pars petrochemical operations after restoring damaged supply infrastructure
Iran has reportedly brought production at its key South Pars petrochemical hub back to pre-conflict operating levels following extensive repair and reconstruction work after recent US-Israeli attacks damaged critical energy infrastructure.
According to local reports, restoration efforts mainly targeted utility networks and feedstock pipelines located outside the main petrochemical zone within the South Pars Special Economic Energy Zone. Iranian repair teams were said to have completed debris clearance, rebuilding work, and technical upgrades in less than a month, allowing major supply systems to resume normal operations.
The South Pars complex had suffered multiple attacks during recent regional hostilities, including a joint US-Israeli strike on April 6, along with earlier air raids in March that affected gas and petrochemical facilities across the corridor.
Sources indicated that the successful restoration of supply infrastructure has eliminated several industrial bottlenecks created by the attacks, enabling petrochemical units within the hub to restart operations at full capacity.
Separate intelligence assessments from the United States reportedly suggest that Iran is also rebuilding parts of its military-industrial infrastructure faster than previously expected. Reports indicated that drone production activities have resumed, while access to most underground missile-related facilities has also been restored.
