China futures market ends lower as PP, LLDPE, PVC and MEG contracts decline on May 26
China’s commodity futures market closed on a weaker note on May 26, with key polymer and feedstock contracts on the Dalian Commodity Exchange recording losses across the board.

September LLDPE futures dropped by CNY71/ton to settle at CNY7803/ton, equivalent to nearly $1017/ton excluding VAT. Trading activity remained active, with total volumes reaching 401,777 tons during the session.

Meanwhile, September PP futures posted a sharper decline, falling CNY157/ton to close at CNY8514/ton, or around $1110/ton without VAT. The contract recorded a trading volume of 577,617 tons.

In the PVC segment, September futures edged down by CNY19/ton and settled at CNY4876/ton, equivalent to approximately $636/ton excluding VAT. Trade volume for the contract stood at 817,808 tons.

September MEG futures also moved lower, slipping CNY9/ton to finish at CNY4473/ton, or nearly $583/ton without VAT. Total traded volume was reported at 341,480 tons.
