Saudi supplier returns to Vietnam PE market with sharply higher June offers

After staying away from the Vietnam market for nearly two months due to shipping disruptions linked to regional conflicts and production-related issues, a major Saudi Arabian producer has re-entered the PE market with fresh June shipment offers. The move gained strong attention from traders as it marked the first notable comeback from a key Middle Eastern supplier since March.
The producer’s latest offers were heard at $1400/ton for HDPE film, $1300-1310/ton for LLDPE C4 film, $1700/ton for mLLDPE C6 film, $1650/ton for LDPE film, and $1800/ton for LDPE coating on a CIF Vietnam, cash basis. Compared with the supplier’s previous March allocations, the new levels reflected substantial jumps across all major grades, with increases ranging between $340/ton and $700/ton.
The June pricing list also included LLDPE C4 rotomolding and HDPE blow molding grades at $1450/ton CIF Vietnam. However, HDPE injection and LLDPE injection grades were not part of the latest announcement.
Despite the producer’s return, many buyers considered the new levels unrealistic under current market conditions. A Vietnamese converter reported receiving revised offers from the same supplier at lower levels, including LDPE film at $1570/ton, LDPE coating at $1780/ton, LLDPE film at $1270-1280/ton, and HDPE film at $1350/ton CIF Vietnam.
According to market sources, the Saudi producer has become one of the few active Middle Eastern suppliers in the region again, while several others are still facing shipment difficulties. Weak downstream demand continues to weigh on buying interest, leading many players to expect further pressure on prices.
Market participants added that although the supplier’s return improves regional supply visibility after weeks of silence, buyers are likely to push for lower deals in the coming days amid soft consumption trends and persistent logistical concerns.
