2 Days Work-From-Home Advisory Issued for Private Sector in Delhi Amid Fuel Conservation Drive
Delhi Government has issued an advisory urging private sector establishments to adopt a minimum of 2 days Work-From-Home (WFH) per week for eligible employees as part of fuel conservation efforts in the national capital.
The advisory has been issued in view of the prevailing fuel conservation situation and aims to reduce vehicular fuel consumption across Delhi. Authorities stated that office commuting contributes significantly to daily fuel usage, and WFH arrangements can help lower petrol, diesel, and CNG consumption.
As per the advisory, private sector organizations including industrial establishments, factories, shops, commercial establishments, IT and IT-enabled services operating in Delhi are strongly encouraged to implement the measure wherever feasible.
The government clarified that this is only an advisory and not a mandatory order. The recommendation has been made primarily for the private sector, while essential and emergency services remain exempted.
The advisory further urges employers and employees to support fuel-saving practices under the “Mera Bharat – Mera Yogdan” campaign.
Officials emphasized that the move is intended to support national fuel conservation efforts and improve commuting efficiency in Delhi.
