Tasnee declares force majeure on PE supply amid feedstock shortages

Tasnee declares force majeure on PE supply amid feedstock shortages
Saudi Arabia’s Tasnee has announced force majeure on its polyethylene (PE) supplies following unexpected production disruptions linked to feedstock shortages.

In a notice to customers dated April 21, 2026, its marketing arm confirmed that its affiliate, Saudi Ethylene and Polyethylene Company (SEPC), was forced to shut down operations due to limited availability of feedstock caused by ongoing geopolitical issues. This has temporarily halted production and disrupted supply commitments.

The impact covers major PE grades including HDPE, LDPE, and polyethylene compounds. As a result, contractual supply obligations for affected volumes have been suspended, while pending and upcoming deliveries may be reduced or cancelled without liability.

The company stated that the situation is beyond its control and clarified that it cannot be held responsible for delays or non-performance arising from these disruptions.

According to initial estimates, the force majeure will remain in place until operations return to normal. Tasnee also noted that it is working closely with its partners to manage the situation and restore supply as soon as possible.
