Formosa Announces Fresh Increase of 220$/MT in PE for May

Formosa Plastics Corporation has confirmed that its previously announced polyethylene (PE) price increases for March and April in the U.S. have been fully implemented. In addition, the company has introduced a new price hike of $220/MT for May, applicable across all its Formolene® PE grades, effective May 1, 2026.
The producer also indicated changes to its pricing structure where contract terms allow. Mechanisms that were previously based on prior-month formulas—such as lag pricing and price protection—will now be adjusted to reflect current-month pricing more immediately.
The company noted that order fulfillment will continue to depend on supply conditions and regular plant operations, suggesting that availability could remain a key factor in the market.
